How to plan a website design project

Victoria sits at a table working on her laptop. - How to plan a website design project

This may or may not come as a surprise to you but - I'm a planner. A classic Virgo sun, Capricorn rising, pragmatic perfectionist, I'm always searching for the best option whether it's the most beautiful place to watch the sunset with a cool cocktail or the most efficient way to travel through Portugal -- which is what we just did!

After returning from two weeks in Portugal, I had to confront a hard truth about myself. As much as I like to think I'm breezy [cue Monica Geller from Friends saying **I'm Breezy** ] - and maybe I was in my twenties - that's just not the case anymore. I'm a planner.

The fact is, I really like discovering and experiencing new things and I don't want to waste any time doing it! This definitely came in handy since the my other half is much more laid back in his travel style. What can I say, we balance each other out.

So you're probably wondering - where is she going with this? Ok, let me get right to the point:

Not only have I poured my expert planning skills into travel, but - lucky for you - I've also just created this comprehensive yet straightforward 10-page website planning guide!

After nearly 15 years working in digital communications, I've seen businesses and organizations of all sizes prepare for a successful website redesign process, and this guide has all of the fundamental pieces you need - whether you're DIY'ing or working with a designer/agency.

From claiming your domain to organizing your sitemap to optimizing for search, this website planning guide has it ALL. I recommend printing it out so you can jot down your ideas and come back to it as many times as you need. I would love for you to check it out and let me know what you think!

So if you're a planner too, you'll LOVE this guide. And if you're not a planner, then you NEED this guide!

I have been working on this guide for quite some time now and I am SO excited to finally be sharing it with you! If you have any questions about it - or if you're ready to talk about your own website project - get in touch.
